Strategically aligned risk assessments

Last week, I spoke at a webinar titled “Rethinking Risk: Modernizing Traditional Assessments” (watch it here). As I researched the talking points, I realised they overlapped with a scorecard and accompanying guidance document we’d compiled for investors.

Impact investors routinely try to balance risk, value, and (prospects of) sustainable growth. One of the common gripes about many internal risk assessments—especially integrity and compliance—is that they’re a checklist. They’re not usable data for business leaders, and they don’t dovetail with or inform strategy.
